Thankful For Toby!

Hi buddies!

Mom is still playing "catch up" now that she's home from BlogPaws. She had a terrific time and she came home with treats, toys and fresh ideas fur us! She'll be posting all about her adventures over the next week!

Unfortunately, the day after she came home, our Toby cat started to slow down.

Toby and his pal Mo came to live with mom long before I did. There are stories in my house how the two of them trained mom's previous pup Matilda! Mo passed over the Rainbow Bridge a while back and we still miss that debonaire dude!
Toby made his journey over the Rainbow Bridge last night, so today we're very thankful for all the good times and purrs he shared with us. Toby was over 20 years old, and mom says he had the most beautiful eyes a kitty could have. She knows he'll always be watching over us.

Thanks fur stopping by!

Not So Wordless Wednesday!

Well buddies, mom's at BlogPaws, all set for opening day tomorrow! She's traveling with the Stunning Cathy Keisha's staff, AKA "TW". After the drive down to Virginia, they had a lovely dinner with the Nutrish representatives and some other terrific bloggers including Caren of Dakota's Den, Amber of Mazie's Dog Blog, DeAnna of Kona's Corner and Preston & his folks of Preston Speaks.

Of course, I'm chilling out with my crew at my home away from home, the Barker Lounge! Mom's promised me that she'll do her best to get the hang of posting from her iPad so we can keep you up to date with all the fun happenings at BlogPaws!

Thanks fur stopping by!

Counting Down To BlogPaws!

Hi buddies!

The house is buzzing with activity this week! BlogPaws begins this Thursday and mom is so excited to be going again! The planning, the lists! She's driving me kooky!

There's so much to do and learn at BlogPaws! Lots of great information for bloggers, tweeters and animal companions. Because I can be a "hand full", I'll be staying at my home away from home. Not to worry 'tho, mom's going to be toting "Prudence on a Stick", so be on the lookout fur her!

(My flat self hanging out with the other doppelgangers!)

The best part of our news is mom is being sponsored by Rachel Ray's Nutrish® Dog Food! We really do love Nutrish® here at Chez Pru! It's the only food I eat!

We'll be keeping you posted buddies! More to follow & thanks so much fur stopping by! Barooooo!

Tuedsay's Tails Blog Hop

 Hi Buddies!

For today's Tuesday's Tails, we'd like to feature a few of the adoptable dogs available from my "Alma Mater" Eleventh Hour Rescue.

Meet Bluebell, a young Bluetick coonhound loves the outdoors!

This poor pup was found chained to a tree, but she's happy and safe now. Just waiting for a forever home. We really do have a soft spot here fur the hounds!

 Next we have Snoozy!

This poor fella was surrendered by his people to a high kill shelter *shaking head*. He's safe now, living with his foster family. Snoozy is up to date on his shots and is neutered. It's believed that he'll do best in an adult-only home. His new family will have to have some experience with scared dogs, as this poor fellow will nip on occasion.

Ceasar is a  3-year-old, 70 lb. Harrier Hound mix.

Ceasar is good with other dogs and he loves meeting new people! "He loves sleeping on the sofa, on the bed and lying on your lap - he thinks he is a 70-lb. lap dog!" This boy sounds a lot like me!

"Ceasar is a free spirit, ready to explore what Mother Nature has to offer (like a typical hound), therefore an active household is preferred & a fenced-in yard is a "must". He is house trained, crate trained, neutered, & up to date on his shots."

Please consider opening your heart and home to a rescue pet! Check out the Eleventh Hour Website for more information on these and other wonderful dogs and cats!.

We're still counting down to BlogPaws! Mom's being sponsored by the good people at Nutrish®, and we'd like to mention that a portion of the proceeds from the sales of Nutrish® go to the North Shore Animal League, BAD RAP (Bay Area Doglovers Responsible About Pitbulls, ASPCA and America's VetDogs (Veterans' K-9 Dogs).
 Thanks fur stopping by buddies!

Wordless Wednesday, Curiousity!

 (Curious, I've got that, BOL!)

Thanks fur stopping by buddies!

Tuesday's Tails, a Day Late!

This week, we'd like to introduce you to Rachet!

Ratchet is a handsome fellow, surrendered to the Union Township Animal Shelter in March 2011. His family moved and weren't able to take him along, so sad. He's been waiting fur his forever home ever since.
A Labrador Retriever/Pittie mix, Ratchet loves adventure. He loves getting his paws wet (and apparently he doesn't mind getting dress up fur photos either!).

Here's a quote from Ratchet from his Petfinder page
"The people that work and volunteer at the shelter have been teaching me new things all the time and I've learned I can really focus with this fun game they taught me "find".  I have to tune out everything around me and find just one thing - and sometimes it changes every time I have to "find".  This game really makes me concentrate and I find it lots of fun.  Other things I find fun are going on adventures and exploring.  I love hiking in the woods, swimming, playing in snow, anything outdoors.  I like other dogs, but I can't promise I won't chase your cat.  Hmm, now that I think about it, I can pretty much guarantee you that I will.  I just can't help myself, especially when I see them run.  If you have a home without a cat, make my wish come true and take me home!"
Ratchet's Pet ID is  Dog7. He's neutered, up-to-date with routine shots, house trained but prefers a home without cats.
Please consider giving this guy a loving home! For more information, visit the Union Township's Animal Shelter's website. While you're there, check out the other adoptable dogs and cats!
You can also email the shelter at friendsofunionshelter@gmail.com or give them a call at 908 851- 5230.

Wordless Wednesday Sighs!

*sigh*
Mom's starting to pack fur BlogPaws and I don't think that I can fit into her suitcase!

Local Rescue Group!

We're happy to be a part of the Tuesdays Tails Blog Hop! Every week, we'll be posting about a pet in a local shelter or rescue that's waiting for a furever home.

Normally we like to write about Eleventh Hour Rescue, where mom found me. But while doing a little research for our post, we found a new rescue group that's just getting started here, a little closer to home that could use some publicity. So we thought that it would be good to give New Hope Pet Rescue a little buzz.
Since we have so many kitties in our area needing homes, we're going to feature an adoptable cat this week!

Meet Katie, a cute Torbie mix, from the streets of New York City! She's very affectionate and would love a family to call her own. Katie is spayed and up to date on her shots.

(photos from New Hope Pet Rescue)

Here's the link to Katie's Petfinder page to learn more about her and perhaps file an application for adoption.  If you're unable to adopt or foster Katie, please consider a donation to New Hope Pet Rescue to help them continue to do the great work that they do. They are an all volunteer group, so all donations go to the care of the animals.

Thanks fur stopping by buddies!
